Promotoras Foster Community Across FHDC Properties
Members from Evolve and FHDC teamed up to create a comprehensive training experience aimed at empowering and motivating Promotoras. Promotoras came together at Colonia Libertad and Colonia Paz for a series of two-hour sessions throughout the month of February. The goals of these gatherings included strengthening leadership, sharing resources, and fostering collaboration within the community.
We believe that by fostering a sense of responsibility and enhancing access to resources, Promotoras can better equip community members to maintain resilience in various areas, including health, educational programs, and financial literacy training, among others.
Three groups were trained, totaling 14 Promotoras, representing residents from 10 different properties. Three Resident Service Coordinators assisted with this effort. We deeply appreciate the vital role Promotoras play in fostering community across FHDC properties!

Promotoras are essential, serving as a link between the organization and FHDC communities throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley. In their role, a Promotora is dedicated to specific priority areas, which include:
Advocacy: Representing the community's interests and concerns.
Mentorship: Providing support to community members.
Connector: Teaching how to access various community resources through key partnerships.
